Have you done all you can? A question from the Labor Council

Have you done all you can? Are you still on the sideline? Undecided, haven’t made up your mind?

This month, the jobs report for September confirmed another 159,000 jobs lost. Was one of them yours? Or a family member -- or are you possibly one of the many that is still out of work, or has a family member out of work? Is your credit card maxed out and you are living paycheck to paycheck with bills beginning to pile up?

We all have questions and secrets -- and we are a very proud people, all Americans are. We should be – we have a lot to be proud of. Can things be better? Yes they can, but they won’t get better without your help: This election is literally in your hands and our destiny is directly tied to the success of Barack Obama.

You might still need to be convinced, or you might be on board, but someone you know still has questions, someone you know is not going to vote and someone you know just doesn’t get it, but we need you and we need you now.

We need you to understand that the next President of the United States can make things better for working people; the next President of the United States can make the struggles of the last eight years better for organizing people into unions; the next President of the United States can help create jobs for the middle class; the next President of the United States can uphold Davis-Bacon prevailing wage legislation; the next President of the United States can help end unfair trade agreements; the next President of the United States can support our veterans; the next President of the United States can do a lot to help working America.

Or the next President of the United States can and will do the same thing the current President has done TO working America.

Have you done all you can do to make sure you have done all you can for yourself as a working American?
